529 – V5 – Gloss Cement / Rose

The 529 series is Whyte’s mid-range 29er with great value for money that’ll help you hone your techniques on the trails.

You could easily jump into buying this bike as an entry-level bike as you get great componentry that’ll last, plus well-balanced and confidence-inspiring geometry that won’t be a shock to a newbie. The air-sprung suspension fork can be fine-tuned to rider weight and riding style for optimum bump absorption and a smooth ride. The rigid aluminium frame is simple, lightweight and robust, with boost dropout spacing for added stiffness.

The V5 version of the 529 (Whyte periodically releases a new version of each bike rather than model year runs) sees a switch to SRAM SX gearing with an 11-50t 12-speed cassette and the fitting of a KS dropper post. It also comes fitted with a RockShox Recon RL fork which gives more mud clearance and allows up to a 2.8″ tyre to be fitted. It comes fitted with 2.4″ Maxxis Ardent tyres for excellently balanced performance across terrain types and conditions. These can be set up tubeless too for a cost-effective upgrade to performance and puncture resistance.
