A bike for any day and anywhere with a lightweight 250Wh battery.
This Treadwell Neo 2 model keeps everything simple for an around town bike – easy on/off geometry with an easy reach to the bars and a seat position that makes it easy to put your footdown, plus an Intellimount stem for your smartphone so you’ve got directions right at your fingertips. The Cannondale Treadwell Neo 2 is sleek and stylish, highly functional to get you up the hills and to your destination with ease.
With a full aluminium alloy frame, the Treadwell Neo 2 is light and responsive with a smaller than average 250Wh integrated battery giving you enough power to get around town while keeping the overall weight low. It’s not too upright and cruiser-y, nor too forward and sporty. The geometry sits in the middle to make for a comfortable but speedy ride. Add in the wide tyres for extra comfort over rough road surfaces and you’ll be flying along in style.
Cannondale have done this e-hybrid bike a little differently: they’ve put the drive system in the rear hub (aka hub drive) instead of in the bottom bracket/crank area (aka mid-drive). Having the motor in the rear wheel hub comes with plenty of advantages. Firstly, the overall cost of the bike is less as hub motors can be mass produced more efficiently particularly because this technology has been around longer. This helps make this e-hybrid way more affordable than many on the market just now. Secondly, with the power from the hub directly turning the wheel rather than a drive system sending power through the chain and cassette, you’ll also find maintenance costs lower as there are fewer moving parts which can wear out and fail.
So if you’re after a ride-around-town bike with added electric assist for less than £2k, then this one’s for you.
