Continental Grand Prix 5000S TR – 700 X 28C

The Grand Prix 5000S TR is one of the fastest road cycling tyres on the market.  Continental tyres adorn the wheels of many a pro peloton road racer, and for good reason… they are fast!  This most recent iteration improves on the previous generation by shedding weight, improving sidewall strength and they’re easier to install.  The “TR” in the name refers to the tyres tubeless compatibilty.  Just replace the inner tube with 30ml of sealant and a valve to decrease rolling resistance and cut even more rotating mass.  Going tubeless will also help reduce puncture risk but even if you stick to a good old fashioned inner tubes the vectran breaker will ward off punctures through the centre tread. At 28mm wide, this tyre is ideal for maximising speed on good roads or those with only slight imperfections.

If you’re riding on rougher roads or would just like a little more comfort then take a look at the 30mm or 32mm GP5000 tyres.
