Continental Grand Prix 5000S TR – 700 X 30C

The Grand Prix 5000S TR is one of the fastest road cycling tyres on the market.  Continental tyres adorn the wheels of many a pro peloton road racer, and for good reason… they are fast!  This most recent iteration improves on the previous generation by shedding weight, improving sidewall strength and they’re easier to install.  The “TR” in the name refers to the tyres tubeless compatibilty.  Just add 30ml of sealant to decrease rolling resistance and cut even more rotating mass.  Going tubeless will also help reduce puncture risk but even if you stick to a good old fashioned inner tubes the vectran breaker will ward off punctures through the centre tread.  At 30mm wide, this tyre is ideal for maximising speed on coarse roads or if you just want a little more comfort on smooth roads.
