Whyte’s new E-180 is a force to be reconned with. Boasting 180mm of front suspension travel and 170mm in the rear, it is a beast of a bike, built for the fastest and roughest descents. Think chunky rock gardens, steep switchbacks and massive drops. Whatever you want to ride, the E-180 will take it in its stride. The Aluminium frame houses the battery in the downtube for a clean, integrated look and a super low centre of mass. This is enhanced further by Whyte’s tilted motor design, making space for a larger 750Wh battery that extends all the way to the bottom of the frame. Pair that massive battery with the Bosch CX Performance motor that kicks out 85Nm of torque and you’ll be at the top of the hill, ready for your next lap in no time. The “MX” indicates the mixed wheel sizes with a 29″ wheel up front for additional speed, stability and traction, while the smaller rear wheel is stronger, lighter and more manoeuvrable. The mullet wheel configuration and “Total Geometry” make for a confidence-inspiring ride that’s still sharp-handling and playful.
Whyte hasn’t skimped on the suspension either. The E-180 S model comes with a RockShox Super Deluxe Select rear shock and a ZEB charger R fork with stiff 38mm stanchions for precise steering and soaking up big hits. Shifting is taken care of by SRAM’s dependable GX Eagle drivetrain. This offers more range than you’ll ever need, with its massive 10-52t cassette. The Code R brakes combined with 220/200mm front/rear rotors deliver outstanding stopping power for keeping speed in check in steep terrain. The spec is finished off with Whytes own long travel dropper post, wide handlebar and short stem.
If you want your own personal shuttle service for shredding lap after lap, all day long, then you should look no further than the E-180 S MX.
