The Specialized Stumpjumper has been around for four decades now and it’s been evolving, adapting and improving every year since its inception in 1981. The latest Stumpjumper serves the same purpose as all those that came before it, to shred trails and have fun. This one just does it better than ever before. The asymmetrical Alloy frame has up-to-date progressive geometry with a long wheelbase, slack head angle, and short reach for maximum confidence whether you’re railing berms or smashing through rock gardens. You can even play around with the geometry by switching the flip-chip around for a steeper head angle and higher BB if you fancy a more nimble ride.
Suspension is taken care of by Fox with a Float DPS shock delivering 130mm of rear suspension travel and the 140mm Float 34 Rythmn fork up front. The SRAM NX Eagle drivetrain brings 12-speed gearing to the party for a massive gear range that’ll let you winch up any hill. You won’t be left wanting for stopping power either with SRAM G2 R brakes. These offer great modulation for controlling your speed in loose conditions.
The obligatory dropper post is supplied by X-Fusion and the rest of the finishing kit comes from Specialized’s own collection, for a clean integrated look. Fast-rolling 29″ wheels are wrapped with a Butcher tyre in the front for ultimate all-terrain grip and a Purgatory in the rear for fast rolling.
If you want one bike for all of your riding, from chill laps of the local XC track to steep and rocky off-piste trails, then the Stumpjumper could be the bike for you.
