Trek FX+ 2 Stagger – 2023 – Blue Sage

The FX+ Stagger is a speedy and versatile, electric hybrid bike for exploring beyond paved roads. The Alpha Gold Aluminium frame has relaxed geometry with enough weight on the hands for great cornering confidence without sacrificing the comfortable, upright riding position. The Stagger version has a low-top tube for easier, step-through, mounting and dismounting. A kickstand comes fitted as standard. As do mudguards, and a pannier rack for ultimate commuting utility. The frame is shared with the Dual Sport+ but crucially the FX+ is fitted with Faster rolling 700x40mm tyres and comes kitted out with rack and fenders, which the DS+ does not.

The drive system is lightweight and provides gentle pedal assist, so it feels like you have a tailwind everywhere you go. The hub motor is great for improving component lifespan because less force goes through the drivetrain. A torque sensor in the bottom bracket ensures that the electric boost is delivered smoothly, so it feels more natural and easy to control. Choose from 3 levels of assistance to maximise power, range or compromise between the two. The 250Wh battery is integrated into the downtube and provides a range of up to 56km. This can be extended with the addition of a booster battery that mounts on the downtube and doubles the range. The integrated lights are bright enough to keep you visible during the day and light up the road ahead if you’re riding on unlit streets at night. The best bit is that they are wired into the main battery so you can never forget to charge them!

Middle-width 40mm tyres balance comfort and performance for speed and smooth riding even on poor-quality roads. The 1×9 Shimano Altus drivetrain is reliable and easy to use with a big enough range for getting about the city. Hydraulic disc brakes provide reliable stopping power, even in the wet.
